    Process control visible on prints

    Hi,

I've got an MPC3000 that's acting up. The process control is showing on prints, it's smeared with the printed text is on top. The quality of the print is perfect, it's just that it's got the smeared process control CMYK boxes in the background. It doesn't happen every time though, I mean not on all prints. Obviously it's only there after a process control which could be maybe every 50th print or something (depending on job of course).

Since this problem aroused I've reseated the OPC belt cleaning and updated firmware to the latest. Considering the prints are perfect in every way except after a process control I don't suspect the belt cleaning failing machenical as much as I suspect electronic/software failure.

Anyone ever had this problem? I could supply samples if needed.
    Peace sells, but who's buying?

I just solved it myself, I think. Just ny looking at numbers, I saw that the cleaning unit is suppose to be replaced at 160K, and the machine's at 180K. I've never replaced it before, and considering the process control has much higher density than normal prints it's nothing strange really.

Sometimes you need to speak it out loud or type it down to be able to see it from the right angle I guess

      Good troubleshooting.
      Glad that worked out.
PM is mandatory at the manufacture recommended mileage. Quality of the parts is no longer as it was 10 years ago
