    MPC2500 Drive Unit

If anyone has to change the Drive Unit to solve a 'PCU Not Seated' Error, due to the RJ-45 Type of connector broken, be aware that the new drive units come without one set of HVPS leads, and they are also minus the dev. drive gears. It's a good idea to set the old drive unit and the new one side by side, and see what was not included. (Believe me, I'll be doing this with all new ass'ys from Ricoh from now on.)

The female connector that the PCU actually docks into It is actually part of the Drive Unit Assembly, and is a major pain to change.I had to change it because the connector was broken.

I haven't replaced one YET, as I said I did glue a K one back into place after the wing snapped off . Is the procdure in the manual or is it like having sex for the first time when your a teenager,(fumbling in the dark without a bloody clue as your blood pressure increases)?

Yes the procedure is in the manual, but it is a little amibiguous, so I suppose it is a little like being a teenager, just wish I could remember!!!!

I had a coworker that just received (complete drive unit). It's not a big deal when you will see the part. It's huge...and expensive. When you will have it you figure it in 2 minutes how to replace it.
You can not order just the connector as a part...(it's not fun how they make it..for a connector that is 50c you must order a part that is 4 digits$). Good luck.
