Re: C4000 SC548 Error Code- Most common causes?
So after inspecting, I noticed the left side seemed to have more resistance when installing. I took the fuser out and noticed the left outer panel was not correctly installed. After fixing that, the fuser goes in like butter and the error went away. We'll see how long it stays away. Fingers crossed!Leave a comment:

Re: C4000 SC548 Error Code- Most common causes?
Hi Guys,
I'm dealing with a Ricoh C4000 that has a sporadic SC548 error.
Before I replace the fuser, I wanted to ask- are there any other reasons that cause this to only happen randomly?
I cleaned all the sensors and re-seated it a few times. All the sensors and connectors seem to be in the correct positions and are not bent or damaged. It seems to work fine for a few days, then it comes back.
This unit also has been having paper jams where the page stops about halfway through the fuser.
Am I missing any lesser expensive things I could try? (Before replacing the fuser)
bad fuser contact, if you want to try a cheap thing to do...
clean well the contacts of the fuser connector and those on the machine with a cotton swab and alcohol, you can also use a scrap of light sandpaper, for example those cardboard sticks covered in sandpaper that women use to file their nails...also the bad thermoswitch's can make di problemLeave a comment:

Yes that's the sensor. When you turn the fuser, does the encoder flag turn? You've got to get the covers off the fuser and get a good look at everything to troubleshoot the problem.
What version is the Engine firmware?Leave a comment:

Clean the fusing unit rotation sensor.
