    MP5500 security issue

I've got a B246 series MP5500 that came from a wholesaler. I need to set up scan to folder, scan to email etc. which I have to do as an administator. Apparently someone changed the username and/or password somewhere along the line. I have tried lowercase 'admin' for username and no password with no luck. I have tried many other combinations with no luck. Is there an SP or SSP that I can reset this with? I have looked all through the SP mode descriptions and nothing has popped out at me.
I have read all through the firggin complicated security reference manual, and it was no help.
    Thanks, all

Try 'supervisor' for username, no password. This should get you access to allow you to change the admin password.

I tried that combination, too, with no luck.

You can try to perform a memory clear on the network settings 5801-010 and 5801-011 and see if it clears. (I have not had luck with that, but some people have said it works). If that doesn't work, the only thing I know to do after that is replace the NVRAM.

I was afraid you would say that.

That was the fix. I had already given that info to the guy onsite and he said it didn't work. I have no idea what he was doing wrong.
            Thanks for the feedback
