    Can't Scan to Email/Folder on Ricoh 2035 S/P

This is only my second time working with a Ricoh. The first was a Ricoh 2045e and although it was a pain, I was able to scan to folder. However, this Ricoh 2035S/P machine is giving me quite the runaround.

I'm now assuming that there is no way to scan via SMB due to the fact that there is no "Folder" tab when creating a new address, just email (along w/ Fax and Key Code, etc).

However, when i go to configure the email settings for the machine, there is no section for this.

I've downloaded and installed Scanrouter V2 to no avail. When i add destinations or sender addresses the admin utility the machien beeps but, i get the same error.

I feel like i'm missing a button that says "Enable Scanning Features".

Here's some more info on the machine:

    System:1.05.1NIB:4.04Web Image Monitor:1.04

can anyone shed some light on this situation?

    Thank you,
    Keith

As you've stated, I know the "e" version can do SMB scanning, but I don't think the S/P does, although I thought it did----to many letter extensions after the model number.

What error through scanrouter lite are you getting? Since I don't think this machine will SMB scan, the easiest option at this point is to get SRL to work.

SRL has to 'see' the copier before anything will work, as it syncs with the device. You also need to have a delivery server, or at least a computer that has a folder that SRL will point at.

Unfortunatelly the 2035 has no scan to folder capability as far as I know. Only the "e" enhanced version is able to perform this feature.
How you can check. Access User tools - go to address book management and try to create a new program. On display should be multiple tabs. If one of them is "Folder" your machine is capable to do it.

Im not getting any error per se in SRL, just on the copier saying that it failed trying to update the destination list.

I create a destination and a send address and neither shows up on the machine.

        ugh.

This can be a common issue that you will run into on a computer, in that there could be a hidden program or something blocking communication. Make sure all software and firewalls on the computer are turned off for a bit while you configure it. I think this is why it's not communicating properly. Once you can 'see' it, then you know that one of the pieces of software you temporarily turned off was affecting it.

I worked on one computer that had one of the all-in-one bloatware suites, Norton or something, and it took quite a while to configure it to allow everything to work fine. It worked great when I turned everything off, but I had to go back through and lock it back down except for the copier and SRL software.

Ok, but how do you know if/when you can "see" it. I see it in the "I/O Device" config and select it and all seems well.

I would think that if a firewall were blocking communication, that i wouldnt be able to see it in that config section.

Am I wrong? If so, how can i find out what the problem is?

            Thank you!

Check what software they have installed for security (firewall, antivirus, antispy, etc) and deactivate them temporary. Try to leave just the mandatory services to run and monitor the behavior.

When you add the I/O device in scan router you must have the machine conected to the network and powered on, but even when you do sometimes the registration on the machine fails (When you add the I/O device the sacnrouter configures on the machine the IP address of the delivery server and activates delivery option, but some times that comunication is blocked by antivirus, firewlls, ...)
You must open port 3670 on the firewall, and configure other security sofware properly or disable it

But since the registration on the machine failed, you have to remove the I/O device from the list and add it again.
If it still does not work, try the following:
Enter special service mode (in sequence yellow_button 1 0 7 and in the end press and hold the red button until the display changes, then press # and copy sp the same time) then go to SP 5845 2 and input the IP Address of the server where you have the scanrouter software. (Use this SP to set the Scan Router Server address. The IP address under the transfer tab can be referenced by the initial system setting)
Also make shure to enable delivery option, not shure where it is, but it is on the normal user menus, under system settings or scanner setting, on one of the menus, look around and scroll down, since some menus have several pages.
On some machines you can also input the delivery server IP address on the user menu's or at least see the configured IP address, but dont remenber exactly on this machine.

Joel is right on the settings. Part of the delivery server is to point it to a machine who's IP addy doesn't change, so if it's a desktop machine, I'd static the IP. I think it's under the Scanner settings for the del. svr.

Go back to the computer that you have SRL on, and deactivate any firwalls, etc. and the software and machine will probably communicate ok. From here, you can mess with the settings.

                      Same issues

I am having similar issues with Scanrouter V2 lite a 2035 as well as a 2018D, in that after I browse for the I/O device(and it finds it), and I give it a name, and click ok. The copier beeps, and when I go thru the menus, i find that the delivery server option has been turned off. I can turn it back on, but only to repeat the procedure. Why would Scanrouter V2 lite be shutting of the delivery server feature on the copier? Also, where can a feller find Scanrouter V2 lite, and if it's gone what am I supposed to use?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

                      Peace

go to scan fatures and see if the ip address is present if not go to sp mode and manually enter it also make sure scan features are set to delivery server or you will never link up if updating scan features is displayed

                          Tried that too...

Thanks for the idea tho. Scanrouter seems to be what turns off the delivery server. I tried going with Desktop Binder, and that'll let me scan. (by the way, when you set it up with desktop binder, it shuts off the delivery server for you, neat) Really been burning the midnight oil on this one.

                          Peace
