MPC 2500 with PB3000 paper bank

    Hi All,
I have a MPC2500 with a B800 PB3000 paper bank. I have a misfeed problem with tray # 4 only. I can feed a job from tray 4, set to any paper size, and it will feed fine up to the very last sheet of the job. The last sheet will pull halfway in and stop. The machine gives the finished job tone and goes to ready. Even though that sheet of paper is blocking a sensor, it DOES NOT show a misfeed. If you then try to start another job feeding from this tray, it will then show a misfeed as it already has a sheet in the paper path. This sounds suspiciously like a firmware malfunction. The bank firmware level is the original version. Can someone send me the latest version or give me some advice on this strange problem? Thanks.

      Thanks, Johnny.
However, I did have all that firmware installed. The only reason I thought the paper deck might have it's own firmware is because on the diagnostic report there is a firmware version listed after "BANK" which I would think would be a paper bank.

I think it is a paper separation problem. It doesnt register a jam because the job is completed. run a job and check the number of sheets received.

I've seen this before on an Apollon (MPC4500). It has to do with the feed sensors on the feed stations themselves, there is one sensor on each. I'm willing to bet the sensor on T4 is faulty, there is an RTB for the Apollon that says to replace these sensors due to bad welds. Try swapping the feed stations from T3 to T4 and see if the fault moves.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

I removed tray 3 and watched the feed cycle. Paper separation is perfect. Toner Munkeh mentioned a tech bulliten dealing with this problem and a faulty sensor. Maybe that is it. I will check it out onsite tomorrow and post what I find.

Problem is solved. I did swap the feed units and found that it was in the #4 feed unit itself. I cleaned the sensors and solenoid, reinstalled and double checked the connections. It feeds fine now. Thanks for the advice, guys.
