    Scan to email lost sometimes

My customer used E-copy option to scan to her Microsoft Outlook. She said sometimes scans go tru Copier fine, but she didnot receive documents in her Outlook. I checked her Junk mail didnot see documents she sent. Scan to folder are fine. What cause of this?
    Machine is AF.3035.

Is your customer going through a local exchange server, or through an external SMTP server?

Either way, there could be attachment size resrictions in place which would stop the email from going through.

Most organisations with their own exchange server will limit attachment sizes to around 10MB. If the attachment is bigger than this, then the exchange server will just drop the email and not forward it to the recipient. This could be why your machine is reporting that the was sent ok.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Good call on the attachment size issue, but there are other possibilities as well:

1.) Some email servers will reject messages without a subject.

2.) Various rules can be set up in Outlook to block the message: no subject, unknown sender, attachment type, etc...

3). The IP address of the MFP may not be allowed to send on the server, and / or must be in the same domain.

4). Some servers are configured so that the sending email address must authenticate before sending.

5). Some servers may require that the sending email address must receive before sending.

There are other possibilities, but these are the biggies.

You may want to have the mail administrator check in the "badmail" folder on the server for bum transmissions. That will frequently tell a story.

      Good luck!

One possibility : Max Emai Size is switched on (Scanoptions). It is normally set to 2MB. You can switch this option off.
