    Ricoh 2090 No Display/Dead

Ten to twenty seconds after 2090 is turned on a wrench indicator displays - monitor screen remains black/blank (no display) - no fans or motors energize - copy key and printer key display red led - replaced Power Supply Unit and BCU as recomended by Ricoh tech support - no change in condition - removed/unplugged finisher, paper feed bank, DF - no change in condition.

All suggestions are welcome - thank you.

Did you do anything to the machine before this happened or was it like that upon arrival. If you worked on anything before the problem happened...retrace your steps looking for pinched wires or disconnected connectors.
Try starting up the machine with the front cover open and the duplex unit pulled out. I've had a short in the duplex connector cause a 'dead' machine.

    Good Luck!

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

Found unit in this state when I arrived at the account - I have tried removing the dulpex unit as well as the fuser (Front doors open) and then powering up - the condition does not change (Blank monitor/no display - wrench) - Ricoh is now leaning towards the controller PSU.

All suggestions welcome - this is proving to be a difficult troubleshoot.

      Thank you.

I had one similar to this I had to replace the controller, luckily we had a boneyard machine with the entire unit including the hdd's on it.

Had something similar (if not precisely the same... ?) on a brand new machine a couple of years ago. Ok the first day then on 2nd day boot up had this problem . replaced the HDD's and the fault cleared.

I second the pinched wire notion....

I had a pinched wire on the LCT which gave a similar issue. Im sure you have tried disconnecting DF, Sorter, LCT if not do it. Another problem was fixed by reseating all cables in the power supply and BCU board. Good luck these are the fun jobs.

              2090 Problem Resolved

Thanks to everyone who offered their assistance in troubleshooting this problem. As it turns out - the problem was caused by a faulty 24v line going from the I/O board to the on-board (main) feed stations - because the line was faulty it was cancelling the cooling fans on the Engine PSU and taking out the monitor. I put better than 10 hours into this troubleshoot - using point-to-points and carefully going through the entire electrical harness I finally isolated the problem.

Thanks guys for all your help - Caveman.
