    MP C2500 lies on sides

Has anyone ever met a the problem with the PCU charge roller cleaning roller wearing out and hence leaving lines on either side of the copy. This is happening at around 40K and then the Drum unit has to be repalaced as the roller is not available by itself or as an assembly. Please note that this roller can not be touched as the foam will just fall off. The first time I tried to vacuum it and the foam was stripped off. Its a pity as the drum is always in good condition and could probably outrun the PM of 80K.

i had the same problem with a c4000. I tried to clean the charge roller with a wet pad and solved it not for long time . Then i changed the roller using a part of an old pcu unit.

P.s.: i love San Gwann, i've been there twice.

      Yep, the same problem.
I just clean the charge roller with a wet cloth.
Usually it's happening with K and Y units.

Saw this today, Had to replace both K and Y Drum Units. Wonder how long the cleaning last? On normal 35/45 cmp B&W machines cleaning the charge roller is a short lived fix.

It depends but it worths to try.
You can place K drum unit instead colors (K is chipper), just cut a little bit the RJ11 plug.

Sir,good day!the proper cleaning of charge roller is wet cloth and dry cloth and the cleaning roller using pump or blower only because we protect the foam to be damage.the life span of the pcu is 80k correct, the cause of charge roller be come dirty because of continues copies or over copy per day or per volume.

I agree the charge roller cleaning is a short lived fix. Even with our low volumes it will not last a week. The real question I was leading to is dose any one know where we could find foam roller replacement. This would be a great bonus as was the knowledge that we could use the black drum for all 4 units by just modifying the RJ45 or change it with the old one. We could probably get another 20 to 40 k prints out of these drums and I bet Ricoh know this as well but due to envisaged revenue on sale of consumables they will not supply the parts.

If you want a part that is not listed in the parts catalog, just go on-line to the parts knowledgebase and search for it. If it isn't there, ask for it.

More often than not, they have given me the number for a part that I wanted. If they don't hear from you, they won't make it available.

                So simple!!

I have never heard of Parts Knowledge base from Ricoh Europe that is. Will ask them about it. In the mean time if anyone gets hold of the part number, I'll be more then happy to hear about it.

All of my submissions have been answered within 24 hours. They are there to help. I would think Ricoh Europe is just as supportive as the N.A. or USA branch.
