hi , i got an ricoh 2045esp that most of the time the display turns on , you can make copies , but the panel gets freeze no key works and suddenly the SC672 appeirs ...

i already check the conecttions between the main controller and the scanner unit they look ok .... any other ideas

Try checking / changing the thermistors!

Had a similar problem on an MP2000 yesterday and the metal contact spring on the thermistor was broken causing all sorts of "unrelated" boot errors including "Please Wait" SC670 and SC402(!)
