In one Ricoh MP161 with fax, it's giving me a lot of troubles with the fax settings.
I don't have much experience with this machines, but we sell some of then, and now I have to give a assistance to one of this.
The problem is, when we try to send a fax, she try and can't connect with the other side of the line. But if we put as speaker, and send the fax all goes fine, she send the fax perfectly.
I think it's a problem in the options of tone and pulse, but I can't find that in the service manual f the fax.
How can I change that?
Someone have another idea?

Try deactivating the line-tone detection first:

Change user switch 22, Bit 0.

Tone/Pulse setting is also a User setting iirc - I don't have the exat menue location in my mind.

This machine make problem with cable .you must cut first and fourth cable.machine work with second and third cable

Agree with PinevskiS. Good chance that the cable is the problem.

Do they need to dial anything to get an outside line ? I have had many times where it will work with on hook but not memory because they need to put one or more pauses in after the prefix for the outside line because the phone system takes too long to get you a line.
