MP 4000 Address Book Error SC870

Hi people i have a Nashuatec MP4000 Basic copier, has no hard disk no printing or scanning features. It is giving me the error "Address Book Error SC870". The machine has Administrator Authentication enabled but when i try to log in with the default admin username and no password it fails the supervisor doesn't go in either. what i think happened is that the client changed the password. I have tried fitting new NVRAMS on the machine thinking it will reset the password but to no avail kindly assist

The MP4000 has standard built in scan and print options, so it's not so strange that you get this error.

It also has a standard HD which is where the Address book resides.
Normally if you cant remember the Supervisor password you have to change the NVRAM. Maybe you need a tech.

I had the same problem on a mp5000 and the sc 870 was corrected by changing the main control pcb, but I had to change the nvram first because the board was on back order. Is this new nvram ( zero counter ) that you are installing? On the base model without hdd the address book resides on the nvram so changing that should let you use the machine. Or I should say it does on the 5000.
