(just thinking out loud.... ie the usual drivel)
    My thoughts exactly.

I'm (almost) sure there's no such submenu. There's a handy User and Tech manual publicly available here. And it's the real thing, since I have the exact same manual in printed form (just translated to my language).

No, the Cartadis has no provision for printing anything related to it.

Could you take the unit with the problem and try it on the other machine to see if the fault travels with the Cartadis or stays with the copier? At least this would give a clue as to the source of the problem.
    Been there, done that!

      ".......Been there, done that!"

Did the fault transfer with the Cartadis? Or stay with the copier??

Sorry for the delay. I don't know about you guys, but I'm having a hell of a week here.

I've been thinking about all the steps I've done and now I'm not so sure about that. I *know* that I swapped the TC11N with another machine (related to a previous problem), but I don't remember if I really tried printing in color from it. So today, as the opportunity arises, I will try it on another machine with another TC11N and see how it works out. I'll post the results here later on.

        Thanks again for your help!

        Cheers!

Problem solved! Thank you all for your assistance - specially to tcs04, reps to you, man!
Found the solution when searching for an entirely non-related problem (as always!).

So, to all of those who'll come to this thread in search for a solution, here it is, the full story:

          - Connect the Cartadis to your Ricoh machine using the 20pin adapter that suits your model;
          - Set SP5113-001 to 1 (Key Card RK3,4) (See note #1 below)
          - Set SP5894-001 to 1 or 2 (See note #2 below)
          - Optionally set SP5121-001 to 0 or 1 (See note #3 below)

          Notes:

#1 - WARNING: Due to the lack of documentation on this, I don't know for sure what are the differences between each of the option on this SP. However, take care not to set it to 3 (Prepaid Card) because it will charge your card every time you press the "Full Color" button on the copier screen.

#2 - If I understand correctly, if you set this to 1, it will charge for print the same thing it does for copy (in my case, 1 click per black copy/print and 3 clicks per color copy/print). If you set it to 2, it will give you the chance of charging different prices for copies and prints - but I haven't tested it. In my case, I've set it to 1. Check RTB RGene034.

#3 - This basically tells if the card is charged as the machine feeds the paper from the drawer (0) or if it does so as the paper exits the machine. The drawbacks are that, if at 0 and the machine jams, the user loses one (or more) credits and the copies don't come out. On the other hand, I've had cases that, when set to 1, I've seen students purposedly jamming the machines as the paper was going through the fuser in order to get free copies (honest!).

Hope this clarifies everything! Thanks once again!

Don't do it. Use instead SP5113-001 to 2 (Key Card (Down)). If you put it to 1, it will miscount when you change from black to color or vice-versa!

It's a shame we can't correct posts - If possible for a mod to do it, please correct my above post (or grant me the rights to do it) please.
