    I would just replace them both as they are inexpensive.
    Take the fusing unit out, and take the top cover off then both thermistors are accessable.

    To reset the service code condition you will need to enter service mode then power off / on.
    There is also a BICU firmware update that helps with SC541 and SC542 mis-detection on cold morning start ups.

    I am tring to fix the Ricoh Aficio 1045 Copier. The Error Code is SC541, Thermistor Open. I am assuming if I replace the two thermistors that I will be back in business. First question is, when I test the see which one is causing the problem, what should the resistance be for the thermistors and where are they located for the Ricoh's copy machines. Thanks for the help
