    Savin 8035 SC 542

Got a Savin 8035 while cleaning the fusing cleaner roller and build up on thermistors some of the protective coating came off the thermistor. when testing machine SC 542 came up. After testing thermistors, thermofuse's, and fusing lamp (which all tested o.k.) the SC still appears. Would the absence of the protective coating still cause this? Not all the coating is gone , but non-the-less there is some missing.

Yes it can and will, replace the thermistors.

I don't mean to insult you, and if I have I am sorry.

Do you know how and have you reset the SC code in the service mode?

But if you have reset the code and you still get an SC542, change the thermistors as stated above.

        Easy one
SC 542 related to a fuser (Fusing unit SC).
I usually follow procedure like this:
        1. Check all of the thermistors/fuses for dirt buildup or fuses for blows - if OK - go Next if dirty - CLEAN!
        2. Check all connections - if OK go step 3
        3. Replace thermistors/fuses (*replace as a set - few extra $$$ will save a lot of time in a future)
        IMPORTANT!
Some models need FUSER codes to be cleared before you will OFF/ON copier. SO make sure you did it otherwise SC will come up again.
Certainly you have to make sure fusing unit doesn't have any visible damages etc.
        Hope it helps.
