Finisher Problem

I installed a SR-730 to a Savin 2535. I can select all the different trays in which I want the paper to exit out of whether it be for a copier, print, or fax, and the display shows all the options for the finisher such as the ways to sort and staple. However, when I select them nothing happens, and when I open the finisher door the copier doesn't even register that there is a finisher attached. Why is this? What could be the problem that would cause this to happen? Any help appreciated, thank you.

If the finisher was plugged into the copier when the power was still on, it may have damaged the SR board. Aside from that, reseat all the connectors on the SR board.
