    [Dead] Ricoh3260c comes to ready but fuser doesn't heat - no error codes

    This is a new one for me and I'm about to roll the machine out the door in the rain (I wish it were raining).

    3260C comes to ready quickly - right at the point the machine would normally start turning over and checking that all systems are go. But, Fuser doesn't heat, sleep button does not function, just beeps at you - everything else seems to be working on the display panel - dock feeder will suck paper through but machine never attempts to move or make copy.

    I checked fuser temps in service mode. All thermistors are recording and displaying ambient temp;
    SM 1-106
    -3 htg roll ctr temp = 100 (don't know what value this is displaying because 100 farenheit is 38C)
    -4 htg roll end temp = 26 (is our office temp of about 76F)
    -5 press roll temp = 26
    -6 hot roll temp = 26

    Checked continuity through fuser for lamps and thermofuses - OK

    Found an Input Check SM 5-803-26 called Set Detection that flips bits 1 & 3 when I slide the fuser tray in and out.

    I have swapped;
    Fuser,
    BICU,
    BICU & IOB,
    Controller Board with different NVRAM but used same Print/Scan card and NIC (don't have second set)
    Power Supply Unit and assembly in front of power supply containing PFC and Power Pack:C,
    Updated firmware,

    I can turn on and off fuser motors in Output Check in service mode.

    I cleared memory for Engine SM 5-801-002 and SCS -003.

    I replaced the NVRAM on this Controller Board.

    Each of these changes/swaps/updates made absolutely no change to the original problem. Machine jumps to ready WITHOUT SC ERROR and without moving any internal components other than some fans coming on and the ADF self-checks.

    Did I mention that no SC error codes are reported? The last one, 3 weeks ago, was waste toner bottle not installed 485.

    Please HELP!

    Just for goofs, have you checked the fuser interface plug on the rear frame for any paper scraps? I've had weird issues that occasionally this was the problem (use a bright light, doesn't take much paper to cause a problem).

      Isn't there an SP you can change that will allow you to get the machine to go to ready without the fuser in it ..... Yeah I found it it's 1112.

        Much as teebee1234 said, have you removed all peripherals and opened the tandem tray (both sides)? We had a ProC900 do something similar and it was a paper jam in one of these plugs (behind the reg unit) which caused two pins to cross(!) and short a 24v line. Have also had weird issues with the solenoid loom at the front of the right hand tandem tray shorting against the runner.
