    Lanier LD325/Ricoh MP2510

I'm trying to clear the menu protect level 2 mode to disable the login features that are enabled for the scan option. Any help with the default name and password for the admin login?

Default login is admin with no password. If the admin password has been changed, log in as supervisor with no password. If supervisor's been changed, I think it might be new NVram time. Not sure if there's a reset in SP modes for this model.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Neither of those worked, I guess they changed the default passwords. What jerks! This is a common problem I have when recieveing equipment in from lease returns and such...

Have you tried those passwords on web image monitor too?

Additional - just looked through the service manual. No SP mode can reset the password on this model. New NVram time I'm afraid, bill the customer!

I have not tried the web image monitor...I never used it, and of couse the customer is here for the pick up! lol Any guestimate of the cost on the NVram? I'm sure it's wicked expensive... Can that be swapped out from another machine?

I don't think it'll be that expensive really. Part number is B195 9590 I think. I wouldn't try getting one out of another machine, it can shag them quite severely.

Thanks for your help and the part number. Found them online for about $100.00.

Print out the non-default data SP5990-6 for the data to input after the NVRAM change

Thanks for the reminder! It would be someting like that, that I would overlook to make this into an even bigger issue....

If you don't need the machine running you could try just snipping the battery on the NVRAM.... MAY reset the data? worth a try to save $$$?

You will also have to re-input the serial number and model (i think in factory SP mode)

Good tip, I may give it a go when things slow down a bit. I'll give an update if it worked or not...

That SP mode is for data print outs. 990-6 is for the non default changes to only print.

Before you try all that, Try initializing NCS (5801-11). It will clear the ip, etc., as well, but it will sometimes put admin & or supervisor logins back to default.

If you do have to replace the NVRAM, upload nvram data to an sd card (5824), replace it, download with 5825, when you get a 625 error, put the machine ser # in sp, then cycle power again. Should come up clear, but P/S wont be there. Turn on sp5925-1&2, & cycle again.
