Fixed
Just for future note for anyone that comes across this that the problem was that the last service person added a locking screw to the transfer belt cleaning mechinism. Once i removed the screw and allowed it to travel the problem was solved.
Thanks for you help anyway guys.

Guest repliedOk stripped the copier at the weekend and cleaned and examined all parts related to the transfer belt.
Anyway didnt notice anything out of place beside a minor scratch on the transfer belt and a load of toner dust everywhere which was all cleaned out.
Anyway once i turned the machine back on all was well it was printing right again both black and colour for about 30 pages and then it went back to how it was :-(.
Have you any more clues at what could be causing this. Was really disappointed when it started to fade again.

Sounds very much like the transfer belt has oil on it.
That still means a tech visit and probably parts.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedNo its in the same place all the time just sometimes its a bit darker then the image but not as dark as the rest of the page. So you always see the light patch.
Its a printer issues as it does the same with test pages and you get the same result no matter which colour you use.

Hi
Does the light patch move on the page or is it always in the same place?
My guess would be that the drum has been exposed to light for a while if its moving. Which means more parts unfortunately.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedSorry for the double post.
Can you recommend another kind of copier to go for? I cant really replace this copier at the minute however when i am able to i would like to know who/ i should be looking for.
Well i have had this coper for about 4 years and its served its time like a trooper no real problems until lately i got it with 10,000 bw and 1000 color copyies on it and now there are around 100,000 bw and 25000 colour. So that might give you a better idea of the usage.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedHiya
Yea i totally agree. However can you recommend an area of the copier to look at?
It was serviced not long ago say within the last 5000 pages. It was fine but then out of the blue just started like this.

A good service call. these machines were not user serviceable, maintanance intensive and parts hungry to maintain good print quality. And the color output would be considered marginal by today's standards. Sorry for the bad news.Leave a comment:

Hiya all
I am having a problem with my copier its printing but not completely. The page comes out with a lighter shade on one area.
I printed 30 pages and selected the worst one to show you to give you a better idea i took a picture of it.
