I'm having some issues with mpc 2030 when printing. now i know it only works with rpcs driver but we are having issues with it.

here's the issue, look at the recipe.jpeg. that's what it's suppose to look like but when it prints out it comes out looking like recipe.pdf.

Basically i need to know that i can blame it on the rpcs driver and i can get my salesman to purchase pcl for this machine.

Are you a tech? Even if you're an end user. Go to

Ricoh USA - Support Center

choose your operating system and download and install a pcl driver and try it out. I prefer the pcl5 drivers myself.

Before you do this though; a few things to think about.

Does it do this for all jpegs?
are you printing in color?
what dpi are you using?
What application are you printing from?
Does it do this only from certain apps?
Why is it printing as a pdf?

yes im a tech and the mpc 2030 only support rpcs. You have to purchase pcl if you want it for the 2030's. only model that does

That's really weird. I have never heard of that. Why do they have the pcl drivers listed on the site if you have to purchase them? I was able to download the pcl5c driver just now. Does the machine just not let you install any driver except for rpcs? Are you by chance referring to the post script sd card?

Toturo, the 2030 is a stripped down version of the 2050. It is RPCS only, without the optional upgrade. Also scanning is TWAIN only.

I think it must be a driver setting. Did you print this from the Web page? Be sure Color is selected in the driver.

Jomama46, Thanx for the clarification. I hadn't heard about the 2030 before today. Just when you think Ricoh can't do anything worse, they step back into time. score23, sorry about the hard time I gave you.

Is the problem occured on color printing only? how about on color copying?
if the color already selected on printer driver and the output not really good, try to perfrom ACC on maintenance and also line position adjustment(2-111)

Anyone having issues with the fax option on the POS? The D432 fax option is causing codes and multiple line fails. Went thru procedure TSR gave us and it just makes it worse only slower...lol Replaced MBU and FCU on multiple machines with no effect. Codes are 00-01; 00-21 & 00-29. DCN Received unexpectedly; EOL signal fail & ?? there is no 00-29 in the SM. This is probably our 8th or 9th machine that has exhibited these issues in different towns.
