Our Savin C3030 intermittently has problems sending out faxes. It is connected to our phone system, and a lot of time will give a "line error" (E1) when trying to send faxes to various locations. If i hook another fax machine up and try it, that one will work. Any of you know of any settings to try to mess with to get this machine to fax out consistently? I know one time i tried to fax to a customer who had a new Savin C9020 just a couple of miles away, and it would not send properly. The other machine seemed to have no other trouble recieving from any other location. And, FYI, ours doesn't seem to have any trouble recieving whatsoever.

Do you still have the fax reference manual? The one with the user parameter bit switches in? Try upping the time for the machine to do the dial tone detection, sounds like it's getting impatient looking for it. Some phone systems have quite a lengthy delay betweem picking the line up and the machine hearing a dial tone. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Ended up going into the bit switches and resetting all to default. Then under Fax Communication, restricted compression mode. Under g3 switches, increased TX and RX sound levels. Turns out we had a problem recieving, too, it had not been brought to my attention sooner. This seemed to make it fax correctly, did this about 7 days ago, haven't recieved a complaint yet, and haven't had it fail on me yet, so still waiting to see if it fails again.Comment
