Gestetner CS555 punch disabled when printing

A CS555 that will not punch or staple print jobs.It will punch and staple fine from the copier.A different finisher has been installed and also didn't work(tested OK at shop).Tried different controller PWB-no change.Machine is now at shop, tested finisher OK on demo floor.Using the same notebook\drivers the demo floor machine works OK but problem machine does not.Basically narrowed down to something in the copier.Anyone had or heard of this?

Has the entire machine had it's firmware updated, not just the finisher? Also, if you install the PCL5 driver, does the driver automatically detect the finisher and punch when you go into the printer accessories tab?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Make sure that the correct finisher is installed in the driver, including whether it has 2 or 4 hole punch.

Secondly, and almost as importantly, make sure that the paper trays are set up in the driver with the correct sizes and orientations.

Hmm.... good point. The only finishers that can be docked on this machine are the SR841, 970, 980, 4000, 4010, 4020, 5000 and the Plockmatic.

I would check out your accessories tab as TonerMunkeh suggests. You may have to manually add the punch unit

                CS555 punch problem resolved

Clear print application memory in SP5801 restored punch/staple operation to this machine.
