Hi guys,im new here.What should i check,coz my aficio 2022 cannot fax in and out.The line is good coz i use another fax machine cant fax in and out.but when change to aficio 2022 cant.Should i do any setting or what?

please check first if the fax option have dial tone when you press on-hook dial. if no, and you said the line is good, try to reset FCU Board and MBU board of fax option then reboot the machine.Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.....A.E. -
When i press on hook dial,yes...there is a dial tone sound.but when i dial the number,it take quite long time to get throught.After that,it say error occur.by the way hw to reset FCU board and mbu board?Comment

Use the on hook dial to get the dial toner and then dial the number but dont press the Start Key. Listen to see what the machine is doing. ex. can you hear it dialing? Can you hear it ringing?sigpic

Are you using the same cable to connect the 2022 and the old fax machine? Not all cables are compatible with all fax machines. Make sure you're putting it into the LINE socket and not the TEL one.It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

There are 2 types of cable, one straight through and one twisted. Ricoh machines use the twisted cable I think.
I like the line socket one, that's a common one with idiotic people who just have to fiddle. That and salesmen, they're forever screwing that one up.
I'm not sure where it is but, if the line's a bit iffy, try turning Error Correction Mode (ECM) off. I think that this is in User Tools-Fax Features somewhere.
Finally, if you have broadband on the same line as the fax, you'll need a microfilter on it otherwise the noise interference will cause the faxes to fail.Comment

Try to check again the way the machine is connected to the line. Some machines have extension connections. Try on all slots available. Check the fax mode whether there are options Rx Rt and auto. check settings, I think any line would connect as long as you have the right rj connection.Comment
