    Using an FTP server...HELP!

As a back-up to have available for any scan-to-file issues I've seen alot of talk of setting up FTP scanning using an FTP server on the clients pc such as filezilla or xflight.

I thought I'd give it a go on our in-house 2022 to my office pc (xp) but i'm stumbling in the dark really as i've no experience of FTP scanning.

Can anyone give me a quick tutorial (or point me towards one) on what settings to make on the FTP server and what settings to make in the destination address at the Ricoh.

    Cheers

    Simon

I have tried Google JOMAMA, and always would before wasting anyones time asking for easily available information.

Unfortunately there's lots of info on file servers but not really anything specific to this enviroment, especially specifics on the Ricohs address settings.

A thousand thank-you's for your reply tho.

use filezilla server it has a very easy to use interface and is very easy to setup and run. first you create the user in the filezilla interface give it a home directory with full rights and start the service also you need to go into the setup options and tell it to start as a service. on the copier your ftp address is the ip address of the computer that you are using and the path is \ then give it the username and password that you created in filezilla not your windows username and password and lastly set the port on the copier to 21 and you should be done. Hope this helps.

          Scan_to_FTP.pdf

Here are some instructions on setting up scan-to-ftp. It can also be done with out a file server program.

Try this as well. This is a Microsoft standard solution that runs as a service and not an application which means it will start automatically with Windows.

Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
