Rebuild the PCU. That will solve it (Drum, Charge Roller, Charge Roller Cleaner, Cleaning Blade, Developer).

          You should do :
          1. Check drum, developer and also cleaning blade, if counter reach limit, replace with new one
          2. Check what kind toner you used it, original one or OEM
          3. Clean transfer roller
          4. Enter SP mode , and look up "transfer current" and then "Cleaning", change the value to "1uA" (SP 2- drum)

23032010356.jpgI'd start with vacuming out the engine unit. Remove the drum, dev and laser unit. Give it a good clean. I'd also change the developer powder.

Whenever anyone asks me to look at anything in that range. The first thing I reach for is my toner vacume.

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                Hit it.

The Vacuumed up filter from the dev unit (ricoco) gives a white band down the centre of the copy.

you could have a problem with a damaged seal between the drum and dev units. replace the seal and lock the units together with a self tapping screw (Next to the seal) to prevent leaks.

is it possible this caused the problem?

                      I'd say it's a fair bet.

put the filter and then say something
