False jam state in section A

I'm working on a brand new Ricoh MP 171 copier (new version of the Aficio 1515) it only has 194 copies on and is stuck in a chronic jam state in section "A" only there is no paper anywhere in this machine. The paper feelers are intact and sensors are functioning.
I pulled the fuser, pcu unit, toner hopper and transfer unit out along with the side door and paper tray. Today I cleared the SC/Jam counter and cleared the memory but still has the same condition. The display says "Open side door and remove paper from section A".

This is my second attempt and it's kicking my but.......anybody see this before?

Do an output check on the sensors, you'll probably find one that isn't changing state.

I've had a couple of instances where the side door switch was dislodged and the actuator hung up on the hole in the frame. It therefore wouldn't 'see' that the door had been opened to reset the condition.

A faulty door switch might cause some trouble if the machine detects "door open" during operation - it's unlikely for a brand new machine but you'll never know. There's also a black paper guide with a mylar located below the reg roller (right behind the paper feed). I've seen this thingy dislocated a bit - that might cause the reg-sensor feller beeing activated by the mylar if the side door is closed (there's a small cutout at the mylar to prevent this if the paper guide is in it's correct position).

Thanks to all for your replies. I've already done the output checks on the sensors and door switches. I was hoping that someone would have something beyond this.
I got change of state results from all sensors and switches.

This sounds plausible......although I did remove the reg actuator and blocked the sensor to eliminate that but I'll take a second look at it, Thanks!

I second that with Gift. I have seen this issue on both the 161 and 171. Also check alignment of the door too and switch alignment too.
