Is it nothing to do with the print driver setting? If you print the image off on something else and then copy it is the result the same?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

munkeh, yep even in copying you have to lighten,if you use auto density its dark,i,ve noticed when i print test patterns a potion is dark, could it be the laser sync?

You're using the "photo" setting, correct?

Its the Laser diode assy. had this numerous times on that series. good luck on a couple of occasions I had to change the bcu shortly after replacing diode due to sc220 at start up. The laser will definately fix your dark copies. good luck

I don't think it's the laser unit. When there's something wrong with the laser unit (synchronizing errors, mirror motor errors) you will see laser unit related SC-codes appearing immediately. I'm sure it's printer driver related like Tonermunkeh and Jomama mentioned.

Eric I can just about guarantee its the laser unit. I saw it at least 5 times I use the Katun test pattern and the surveyor face is almost pitch black.
