    MP6001 print quality issue

    Hi guys

I do have an issue with three brand new MP6001 installed in the same university but different rooms.

The issue is the print is smashed partly in the morning only but not every day, and the output will be fine after cleaning the drum.

It is a humidity issue, but how to void that?

I am attaching the output image, kindly advice.

    Regards

You might try turning drum rotation on.

It looks like moisture condensation on the drum. I like what the other person said about cold temps. It may be possible to get by with drum powder and a new drum cleaning blade. Or the drum may benefit from getting waxed, if it has toner stuck to it. I have not done this yet, just heard about it.

does this happen on large formats (A3 in europe) as well?

Is the problem sorted yet? If so pls let me know what was wrong. If not sorted as yet and if it is a humidity/condensation problem you might try taking the machine off energy saving mode and keep the machine switched on full time and test for a day or two.

You could also switch the tray heaters on to test if it is anything to do with humidity or condensation.

The drum rotates while the machine is warming up, which should help the damp part dry off. Or so the theory goes.

that kinda looks like the drum or transfer belt or maybe even the fuser is skipping. if it is a color print do all the colors smear at the same place? that can help you tell if its on the drum unit or on the transfer belt. if u r sure its humidity related then try stealing a peltier unit from an older 3260 and install it in this one. firmware will support it, they just took it off on the newer units and made it an option. it helped with on e i had in a humid basement: http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ri...roblems-2.html
