[CQ] AF700, problem every 100 copies

Hi,
Out of 100 copies I make with the AF700, I get 7 pages with a black vertical line from top to bottom, 3mm wide, and next to it a white vertical line (or rather, a lack of text), same width as the black line. This occurs on one sheet only, the pages immediately before and after are fine. What could be causing this? Thanks.

Is there slop in the scanner drive from sheared scanner set screws? Just a wild guess. If so, you may be able to tape the drive wires together when you pull the shaft out to replace whatever has failed. It is a bugger bear to re-coil the cables and route them correctly.

Check for SC3** codes in the logging data relating to charge, then make sure the cleaning pads inside the charge corona unit aren't getting stuck.

Take the motor out of the front cover and manually turn the screw to make sure it'll go completely end to end without binding.
