hi , yesterday a af 2090 propped up a error msg sc 870 and sc 925 hard disk error in spite of clearing the memory the error still persisted so i decided to remove a set of harddisks from a good working machine to install on the m/c showing error the same error propped up.Now i put back the harddisks from i removed from the good working the m/c which was working well now shows the same error and sort,edit, duplex options are disabled i am in a fix can someone pls help i'm desparate.

you need to run the hdd reformatting in SP's

thanks for your response i tried formatting in sp mode the screen returns with message failed ,the issue is that the duplex ,edit,sort. finctions are disabled. Is there a way to get around this?? pls help

your problem is with your hdd,thats why the peripherals are not active take your time when replacing your hdd and connectors should work

SD card in wrong slot
Install Fax Address Book SD card in slot 2 not slot 1

SC925 (NetFile Error) appeared at the same time
The HDD was defective
The HDD was formatted, and when the errors occurred again the HDD was replaced

Hi lupi,
Thanks for your response.Since I was working on canon machines a good part of my career.The sequence of correcting hdd and NV Ram related problems in Ricoh machines are a little confusing the service manual doesn't give you much. I would appreciate if you could elaborate on the procedure it would help me a ton.

I was talking with a tech yesterday who told me he had an issue trying to reformat a HDD. What he did was unplug the HDDs then entered SP mode & ran Sp5832. He then shut down the machine & plugged the HDDs back in. When he rebooted the copier, it went ahead & reformatted the HDDs. Hopefully the timing of our conversation helps.

On another track I had a 1055 years ago giving me HDD errors. What finally fixed it was replacing the PSU. I say finally because I had both my 5 & 24 volts @ the new HDD so went the BICU route first.

Noooo.... don't do a memory clear to cure a fault like this. If the machine's telling you it's got a problem with a particular component, check it before clearing the memory. Have you at least put the non-default data back in the machine?

With regard to the hard disks, you'll just have to replace them with new ones I'm afraid.

I've still have had no luck with my problem SC 870 ,SC 925 the duplex , edit, sort functions are disabled on the display
tried all the suggestions nothing seems to work. can some expert help please!
