    [CQ] Top Edge, Dirty Marks

Having some CQ issues on Savin 9935. I'm getting lines along Top edge. See attached. Could someone help on ID of problem? Cleaned tranfer belt , rollers and guides. Seeing toner on drum, but not sure if from excess spilling or bad cleaning unit TR.

    Thanks to all responses,

If you look at the streak, it has a "tread" pattern. It is most definitely being caused by the charge roller. They leave lines like that when they have some sort of contamination on them, usually caused by toner on it.

I'm guessing it's time for a PM on that machine. There seems to be shading in the background of the copy, indicating a need for developer replacement. The toner on the charge roller is usually caused by a problem with the cleaning blade; it's either worn, or might just have paper dust built up on the edge of it causing it to leak toner past it.

In any case, you are going to have to disassemble the PCU and clean it up at the very least...

Honestly, it's time to retire that machine, it's an antique...

I would also agree looks like charge roller pattern especially since it runs through the erase margins, looks like thers a mark next to where you drew the arrow as well. The developer is probably going, mag roller probably needs cleaned. At the very least if you don't have parts handy you can take apart the pcu and clean the charge roller with soap and water. It might get rid of the black line for the time being but CQ is still going to be an issue.
