This unit did not have a hard drive so I installed one and I went to sc 5-832 and reformatted but it still says there is no hdd available . Is there a different initialization procedure I need to do to bring the hard drive on line?

That's all that should be required.
Did it have a printer installed previously? In other words, what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
Otherwise, are you positive it's a working HDD? -

This 2022 had print and scanning but only twain scanning because it said no hdd is available cannot store set origional and select twain from pc. So I am trying to get the scann to email going and I took the hard drive out of a Ricoh 3025 in which the scanning to email was working .Is this possible to do ?Comment

Well the HDD is certainly fine (any 2.5" will suffice), and that means that it should be a working unit, but you'll need the proper memory dimms, print/scan chip, as well as the network board installed to make all this happen on the 2022, and that's likely why it is not recognizing itComment

It has a dim card and network card but I dont see any thing that could resemble a scanning card maybee thats whats wrong . Thanks for your help I will try and find one tomorrow.Comment

Installs on the board as well and looks almost identical to the memory card
