MPC 3500 yellow on top and magenta on bottom (shading )

I tried a different transfer belt assy and the yellow and magenta pcu's and same thing . can this have something to do with the transfer roller unit ?

I'm not really picturing the problem Rick. I assume your not talking about an alignment issue?
Any chance you could upload a test pattern or something for us to look at?

I know I was wondering the same thing. "I could see it being on dust in the optics if copy only".

When printing though its usually the transfer belt or rollers, or the ITB cleaning unit.

I would also make some black/white prints if they come out fine it could be dirty contacts on the back the PCU's even with new ones if the contacts on the rear of the machine are covered they PCU's may not be making contact, make sure the inside is clean and contacts are all in good shape. Other then this being a copy issue i would make sure black only prints are either also shaded or not might be able to help narrow down where its coming from.

Er no, and don't hijack other people's threads.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

              Hit it.

Take out both charge rollers, wash them real good with water and soap so the brown cover comes out and the rollers turn white, dry them up and assemble the units back again.

If they are like my customers one could have b3n bad for a while before they called in the problem, that and if they print a lot of color you could wear out a couple of pcus about the same time
