    [CQ] MPW3600 Voids

I have a customer that has white voided areas near the middle of the prints on their MPW3600, these are occurring on prints as well as scans. The regular pm parts have been replaced pcu, dev, fuser and both front and rear charge coronna's. It appears to be a charge related issue to me but I have yet to get to the bottom of this issue. I have also replaced the power supply without any change. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, has anyone seen anything like this on a wide format??

    Ive attached 2 samples

Thanks for the response but I have the parts and service manuals already. A number of parts ( as stated ) have went into tryin to sort this one out but its a real head scratcher.

Check the Drum Pick off finger Solenoid. I had the same issue on a 2400wd.I changed out everything you changed out and found that the solenoid was misfireing and or sticking open.

Looking at your samples, the voids are not in a distinct line so you may have a paper related issue or the paper could be moving away from the drum in the non image area. If you could run a bunch of cut sheets it would eliminate that part of the problem. Also did you do a cold shut down to see if the problem was for sure in the printing area?

                Sorry,
it worked in the situation I had. I have one other idea are the end blocks of either the charge or seperation caronas cracked or damaged. Try cleaning those with some alcohol or laquer thinner cut 50/50 with alcohol or water.

To me it looks like a transfer problem due to a moist paper, looking at the samples provided and at the shape of the problem area (if will be just a printing problem). But because you mentioned that exactly same problem is on your scans this escalate the problem to boards.

I have seen this type of problem several times and it is usually transfer or paper problem. If you lose charge on this machine it will usually leave black streaks not voids. You can also have a probelm in the fuser with the oil supply roller wiping the toner from the page.

I have since cleaned and checked the charge and separartion coronna which were replaced new and I stopped it mid process to see it is definitely in the transfer process before getting to the fuser, I will be looking into the boards ( power supply already changed ) maybe the IPU ??

I think I would look again at the corona assembly itself. Nothing is impossible but I can not see a board causing the kind of problem you have. Still looks like a transfer corona or paper problem. Even though you replaced the wire it could still be a bad wire.

I managed to get this resolved and it turned out that the transfer coronna was sitting on the rear pins that the brown plastic C is suppose to sit around making it sit a couple millimeters higher at the rear than it should. Obviously it was a simple/dumb problem but those are usually the not so easy to see. Hope I explained that ok and this helps someone.
