Ricoh MP C2000 Print quality issue

    Hello,

I have a MP C2000 doing smudges in the feed direction only when printing in colors. Printing B&W never reproduces the issue.

The symptom can be confirmed in the attachments provided.

Note that the issue appears on the first 2,3 pages of multiple pages jobs.

The machine has roughly 350 000 mono pages and 30 000 color pages.

The K drum didn't reach the PM of 80K yet.

    The following parts are new:

    - transfer roller
    - transfer belt
    - transfer belt cleaning unit
    - CMY drums
    - Entire PM Fusing Unit

I would appreciate any help regarding this...

That looks like the cyan PCU to me, although I do have problems seeing colours correctly. I'd make sure that the charge roller in the cyan PCU is clean (3 clips underneath) and that there isn't anything on the charge roller's cleaning roller.

Also, the dev unit may be damaging the PCU, although this doesn't usually happen until 500k or so.

Finally, you seem to have the language on the machine set to Spanish!

              - CMY drums
              - Entire PM Fusing Unit
I'd still go with the K drum since everything else is new. Usually the units doesn't have problems to reach the PM interval but exceptions are proving the rules^^

It's not unlikely for a faulty K unit if the prints look fine in b/w mode but streaky if printed in full color since the machines are using different process speed/high voltage settings for FC + B&W.

I would agree with Gift with the K drum and the "process speed/high voltage" difference. Also take a look at the ground plate at the rear side of the ITB cleaning unit. About a year ago ricoh changed the shape of the ground plate because of minor electrical leaks/electrical noise which sometimes appear as lines/smudges at 110mm intervals (the pitch of the drum unit)

The new ground plate part #D0296197 was changed 1/12/2011

                  This i totally agree with..

I had a MPC3000 returned after a Customer went bust. The mc had about 90k black and 69k Colour but was covered in dust. This machine look liked it had been on a building site for 12 mths without a service.

The boss told me to strip it clean and put new parts in it, So i replaced the lot but i kept getting those streaks in Yellow on the first sheet of large jobs. A good 10 labour later and after A call to Ricoh i changed the above part #D0296197 and BAM job done
