    SP 3410 Issues...

I am in dire need of some understanding on the SP 3410s.

    1. I've seen a number of SP 3410s that get stuck in Processing mode. We have rebooted the machines, confirmed the print queue is flushed, etc. and the error persists. What more should be done?
    2. We have been assigned a number of SP 3410s that were initially set up using Static IP (DNS set to Auto or Manual). The company's SMTP servers require that the devices be set to DHCP for registration purposes. We have upgraded the Engine & Controller firmwares to the latest versions (2.01 & 1.08), and this temporarily causes the device to pull a valid IP address. However, over time, 95% of the devices lose connectivity to the DHCP server, and pull a local IP address (169....).

Any feedback/suggestions on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

What is the lease time on your DHCP setup? Are they assigned a pseudo-static address based off their MAC, or do they pull from the standard address pool?

Have you upgraded ALL the firmware or just system and engine? There are network, webdocbox, printer, pcl, etc. firmware as well, and I have seen some really goofy bugs caused from modules you wouldn't expect.

No, the only firmwares that were updated are listed. The tech support line said those would resolve the issue. I don't have access to the firmwares or I'd give it a shot.
