    c3500 DF hinges

I have a customer whose DF is a bit loose and is falling on their hands while copying checks. Can these be tightened or do they have to be replaced?

    Thanks

There's a modification available that tightens the hinge-spring - very easy to install and not pricey. Unfortunately I don't have access to my technical database right now.

Okay that's good to know. Let me know if you can find the part number. Btw is this something that is common on this doc feeder?

Yes - I've also seen broken hinges on machines with heavy usage. I'll check it next week in case noone else can look into the DF3010 bulletins in in the meantime.

Just went through the DF3010 RTB. It seems there's sometimes not enough grease applied to the cam of the left hinge. A spacer has to placed just below the big springs of the LEFT hinge (Part No. : B223 9450). If there's too little grease on on the hinge, you should apply it on both sidesof the spacer. The grease should be : Silicone Grease G-501 (Part no. : 5203 9502).
