Drop right hand side door. At the bottom of the transfer roller assembly there is a metal stay that is supposed to stop the transfer unit moving too far forward so the door can close correctly. It has a black earth wire attached to it. Either side of this stay, there is a tension spring. One or both of them will have come adrift.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

              Hi,
this week I had the same issue.
In my case transfer case was broken. I mean plastic pin fixing case onto right door. Transfer unit was not properly set/fixed
It is necessary to replace case and 3 other parts becase case was modified:

              D0295288 case transfer
              D0894664 guide plate
              D0894665 shaft holder
              D0894666 (I do not remember name )
Microsh.t is finished and Linux Rulez

Check the ground wire between the right door and the right rear cover.

Of course when display works. When display is blank and sc204 you can see only via web page, it is necessary to replace mirror motor and main board together. It is possible to repair mainboard easily. Broken mirror motor fires up 0ohm smd resistor. This is kind of fuse. One is placed on main board near mirror motor connector. Broken mirror motor has internal shortcut and can fire up every new main board when connected.

The screen being "out" (very dim actually) is usually a SC202 that involves the laser and the BICU board.

SC204 in the book mentions issues with the laser as well, so techs used to dealing with the SC202 assume it is close to the same thing when in fact on these machines, the issue has nothing to do with the laser.

The cause of a SC204 is almost always an issue with the transfer roller unit on the right door (springs popped loose, housing broken or something like that) or the ground wire that runs from the right door to the frame of the machine is either cracked or broken. (I have had a ground wire broken in that black sleeve between the door and the main machine).
