    mp5500 tray 3 shows "K" ??

I have a mp5500 client says its showing K in the screen and is printing "off set" when copying..
What does this mean? I had him reset the paper in the tray and check the back stop,
    any help on this please
    Thankx

Isn't there a non U.S. paper size that ends in "K"? Like 3K or 5K or something? That would be my first guess, the tray is set up wrong and is showing the wrong paper size on the screen. Which might also explain the so called "offsetting" maybe just a tiny bit if the copier, set to the wrong size, was copying to that size of paper rather than the paper that is in drawer 3 and getting extra toner on the transfer belt.
Hope it is just that simple.

Maybe there is a bit of scrap paper caught behind the paper drawer, that is interfering with the auto-size detection switches. Iowatech is right about the side guides needing to be pushed nicely up against the paper in the tray to register a correct size. Somehow I remember "8K" being the strange size that I got on some old machines. Something a bit shorter than legal, I think.

User tools - System Settings - Tray Paper Settings - Tray Paper Size.
