Hi everyone. My name is Mark and I'm kinda like a DYI guy. I have basic knowledge and understanding on how to set up things that requires basic TCP/IP configurations like setting up IP addresses, subnets, and gateway.
We have a Savin C4535 Copier/Printer/Fax/Scanner in our office. The copier function works great without problems. Same goes for faxing and printing. But I am having issues in regards to scanning. Here's what's going on..
The machine is set up with a Static IP. All computers have Static IPs too. We can use the scanner feature by scanning it using the "Store Only" option then downloading it through the Web Image Monitor. This has worked for us in the beginning but lately, we have been scanning tons of files and the method we were used to takes us a lot of time.
I have tried to setup the scan using the SMB/Send to Folder method. Here's what I did:
I have also tried going with the FTP method. Here's what I did:
Additional Information:
Can someone please enlighten me on what could I be doing wrong? Or If someone can point me in the right direction If I need to install something else? Thank you in advance.

- Created a folder in one of the computers running Windows 7 (32-bit) and shared it with full access (read/write).
- Selected Send to Folder on the C4535 and used Browse Network to select the destination.
- Upon selecting the right computer name, it gives me an error that it cannot log in using the default username/password and asks me to enter new ones. (The default username/password is blank)
- Once I entered the credentials for the computer (I assume this is the Windows Login username/password), the C4535 will suddenly give me an error that it cannot find the destination.
- If I try to go back and select "Browse Network" it cannot find any of the computers on the network anymore until I power-cycle the machine.
I have also tried going with the FTP method. Here's what I did:
- I created a folder that will serve as an FTP directory on the same computer as mentioned above. The folder is also shared with full access.
- I used IIS to create an FTP and pointed it to the folder I created.
- I selected in the C4535 the FTP method and entered the IP address of the computer where I created an FTP.
- When I try to test for connection, it always fails.
Additional Information:
- All computers in our office run either a Windows 7 32-Bit or a 64-Bit. I have tried the same procedures on both a 32 and 64 bit and nothing worked.
- The C4535 is connected on an 8-port hub that services 4 computers and 2 other printers. The hub is connected to a router that hosts 3 more hubs.
- Our network is configured this way: Modem - > Router - > 4 Hubs (1 8-Port Hub in each office) - >
- 1st Hub = 4 Computers (2 running 64-bit and 2 running 32-bit Windows 7) + Savin C4535 + 2 Lexmark Laser Printers
- 2nd Hub = 2 Computers (both running 64-bit Windows 7) + 2 Lexmark Laser Printers
- 3rd Hub = 3 Computers (all running 32-bit Windows 7) + 2 Lexmark Laser Printers
- 4th Hub = 2 Computers (all running 32-bit Windows 7) + 1 Lexmark Laser Printer
Can someone please enlighten me on what could I be doing wrong? Or If someone can point me in the right direction If I need to install something else? Thank you in advance.
