    [Misc] DEFECTIVE PCU FOR AFICIO 1022/2022/3022 etc

    Hi,
    Once I have seen batch Nos. of defective PCUs ( developer unit gears wear out before 10K) in this forum and a technical bulliten was also reffered.I am planning to buy some stock.Would anyone please give me the above info again .I had erased that file accidentally.

    Someone quoted that the brown coloured gears in developer part of PCU wear out/broke early with a brown coloured powder which subsequently mixed with developer causing drum damage.
    An urgent reply will be appriciated please. ( I am going to purchase some PCUs)

      I have seen this often with the 2510/3010/3025/3030/2550, but never on the 1022/2022.

          Yeah,Thank you.But If I am not forgotton.I have read someone's post about this issue in older series.May be it was posted with 2022/27 but I am damn sure that someone briefed about color of gears and attached a pdf file containing batch Nos of PCU series and a RTB.
          However I am very grateful to your concern .
          I am talking about PCU EDP " 411018 & 412271".
          My basic requirement is to sort out the PCUs having batch Nos marked in RTB prior to fit and deliver them to my valuable clients.

              Please provide any information about this issue in 2510/3030 etc ,if it will be convinient for you and it will be very helpful for a newbie like me.

                  Here is the tech bulletin regarding this issue with the 2510 series. As stated by others, I don't believe this was really an issue with the 1022/2022 series as those units were replaced as an entire assy and not meant to be rebuilt. Anytime an issue came up then it was time to slap in a new pcu unit.

                      1022/1027/2022 all have PCU replacables, many people i have worked with have put these units into 2510 etc thus not realising that the toner cartridge is completley different therfore damaging the gears on the pcu.

                      1022/1027/2022/2032 all have replaceable PCU after 60k or so

                      2510/3010 etc have Units that can be rebuilt with drum blade gears etc and SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED WITH PCU for 1027 as a simple solution period

                          I'm a little confused by this statement since both machine use type 2120D toner, and while I know that the PCU is "technically" different from one model to the next, I have seldom rebuilt the MP2510 PCU, finding it easier, and more cost effective, to simply swap in the type 1027 unit, and I've never experienced an increase in PCU related incidences. The same goes for MP2550/3350 (I'm just saying)

                              Sorry my Bad meant to say 3025 machines also i have had issues with the 2550 pcu,
