    Ricoh 2045 stapling problem

Have a SR880 finisher that does not staple in the correct postion. At the default setting in SM, the staple is half on the page. Max the value out and it is better, but not where it should be. Corner stapling is fine, to me.... I have replaced the stepping motor that moves the stapler back and forth and also the swivel motor. Tried a finisher control board also with no luck. Any thoughts.

Have you checked that the jogger fences are moving in close enough to the paper?

      stapler

it is possible the stapler home position sensor is slightly out of position, its worth a quick check, does the stapler make a grinding noise ?

      Good luck

The paper is aligned correctly by the jogger fences. Tried swapping the home position sensor with another with the same results.

Yes, the sensor is in the correct spot.
