    c4500 pcu

I see they have changed the Black PCU from B223-2042 to B224-2042. Anybody know the changes. My tech called me a few ago and says it wont fit. He has moded many of these so they can be used in the color slot. I wonder if they have changed it so you cant any more. Anybody know about this?

Main change is around the charge roller assy, they have made it like an MPC3300 pcu with a screwed down charge assy and 2 screws to hold the front plate around the bearing. On the back of the pcu near the connector block you should see C1 inscribed so you can tell the difference between a C1 and a C2 pcu. Colour C1 pcu's still the same with a clipped in charge assy and 1 screw holding front plate on but i imagine the new black drums should be able to be modded the same way to replace the colour pcu's.

C2 being the 28/3300 and C1 being the 35/4500? Is that what you're saying?

It fits the same and can be modified to fit the colours the same. However, the face-plate cannot be swapped over so all of the PCUs end up with the "K" decal on them (as if that matters.)

You're right Chris. I took a developer unit out of stock and a B224 pcu and was able to connect them. I think he didn't take the bearing retainer off the front and so it looked like it wouldnt fit.
Not a problem as I see it.
