Hi, can anyone give a definitive on whether the HDD option is needed to provide MPC305spf with ability to scan to USB stick? Thank you

I see an HDD is needed for quite a few of the features.

I have tried this option on anMPC305 and an MP301 as well and it does not work without the HDD.

scan to usb stick is possible without HDD. press scan ,scan settings, pag4 ,store doc.

I agree about the fact that you can scan to usb without hdd - we program shortcuts for this on all our setups. Printing you do need the optional hdd though - says so in the training manual.
