Copier needs PostScript option, all the workarounds aren't worth it so don't bother trying.

I would assume that the "many pages" were that of a PostScript dump, which is exactly what you will get without the option installed in the machine.

Just pony up and buy the PostScript card.

and down load

Guitenprint 5.2.9 or whatever is most current woks like a charm only prints in black and white.

and down load

Guitenprint 5.2.9 or whatever is most current woks like a charm only prints in black and white.

if its a monochrome ricoh, just use the gutenprint drivers.

Those may work, but those options are not supported by Ricoh, nor should any technician support it. If the customer has the money to go Mac in the first place they shouldn't be bitching about the extra cost of a PostScript card.

Use FTP scanning, email scanning or download SMUp and use SMB in 10.7+.

you are right if you have any options installed on the machine..(lower trays, sorter, etc), but buying a postscript option to support 1 computer out of 7? come on. As a tech , im would present the options to the customer and let them make the decision...

I had the same situation with a 2027. I tried Gutenprint and found no options for the copier. The users weren't happy. I bought the postscript card from a forum member. The postscript card was by far the better solution. All the options showed up as they should. I also didn't want to deal with it when MAC decided to update something and all of the sudden Gutenprint stops working.
