I have an MP C2500 that throws and SC565 after it sits for a little while. I can look in SP 1-1106-3 (pressure roller temp display) and see the temp. dropping steadily to 35 or 40 degrees before it codes. If I catch it in time and bring it out of stand by it will raise the temp. as it should and work until it starves the temp. down again. It looks to me like the pressure roller is losing it's ability to maintain the stand by temp. I tried another fusing unit and that one wroks like a champ. I know I can just replace the fuser as I have had to do on a C3245 with the same problem. Just wondering what could be wrong with this particular fuser. I would normaly reaplce the power supply if another fuser didn't work in it. Mystified...................

I would say the pressure roller thermostat is popped and the pressure roller lamp is not coming on. It works for a bit off the heat it gets from the belt lamp.

Had the same a few years ago. Replaced all the usual suspects in the Fusing Unit, replaced the Power Supply, and no result. I ended up replacing the whole Fusing Unit. Maybe there was a bad contact somewhere. After replacing the whole unit the SC was gone.Comment

Thanks cdog530! Cheked the pressure roller thermostat and one of two were popped. Just smacked it with my screwdriver handle and reset it. Works like a champ now. Thanks again.Comment

so totally agree ! Had this on one and I got fooled because a temperature registers for the PR so I thought "cant be the lamp or the thermofuse" and didn't bother checking them, before realising that the temp registering was being transfered off the fusing belt. Sneaky.I would say the pressure roller thermostat is popped and the pressure roller lamp is not coming on. It works for a bit off the heat it gets from the belt lamp.Comment

The best I can figure is the error is generated through the thermistor and not a typical "open circuit". Must be a software configuration. I did replace the thermal fuses (both while I was in there). I reset them for troubleshooting and then replace if I find one like this one. I too have been screwed by thinking I can just reset it and go. I found out the hard way by having to go back 200 miles two days after I "reset" it. Thanks to all who contributed.Comment

in fact, the thermostates sometimes gets faulty contacs which are heavily to discover. If you measure them under no load you will get nearly 0 ohm, but if you build a circuit with this thermostat and a heater lamp, connect them to mains, you can measure approx 30-40 volt loss (here in europe, with 240 volts current) above the thermostat. Took me some time to find this out

Yes, a busted fusing lamp will do the same. Because it uses separate lamps for running and power saving. This will keep you busy for a while, because while the machine is running all is well, its when it goes into saving mode!Press the GREEN button!!Comment
