I installed a brand new 2550 at a medical office. They have put it on a low counter so that the top of the RADF is at chin height making it difficult to see what's happening. The complained that the DF jammed when they fed sheets that had been tri-folded. They figured out that it fed better if they loaded the originals in the long directions so that the lead edge was straight. But still they complained of jams.
When I inspected the machine it jammed when fed in the Letter direction unless I smoothed out the creases from being tri-folded. But when I fed it in the Letter R direction it didn't actually jam, rather it asked to have Statement size paper loaded. Because the sheets had been tri-folded the trail edge lifted up off the original tray where there are original size detecting sensors. At first I was going to shut off auto paper detect, but I opted to tape a small piece of paper over the first sensor to fool the machine into recognizing it as letter.
Anyone have a better idea or experience with this problem?
Thanks!
Robin
