2035 failing to load new toner

Second problem for the day. Had a 2035 that was not seeing new toner. Inspected the toner bottle cover that was missing the mylars, so replaced that with a new one, that failed to solve the problem. Passage of toner from bottle to dev unit clear and free of any blockage, new developer, new Td sensor, toner motor rotates, developer rotates, new door microswitches at left hand side of front door, and toner eventually loaded. The other day called in to deliver a new toner after it had finished that last one, went in for what I thought was going to be a two second toner delivery, load the new toner, and, it just remained on the "replace toner" message however many times I opened and closed the front door (don't you just hate it when that happens !). I had no time to muck around with it, switched it off and said I'll be back after the weekend. What am I looking at this time guys ?

double check the developing unit. replace the bearing if necessary for it might not turn the paddle properly.
    check also the readings.

I had this issue few times.Just simply replace a brand new Toner Hopper unit would solve the problem. You need to load the toner few times for the new hopper.

Is it the right toner? I've seen this when some monkey has put 1045 or MP4500 toner in.

Thanks for replies, appreciated. Will look again at bearings,
a brand new Toner Hopper unit would solve the problem.
its a new bottle cover unit (the bit with the mylars), so in effect its new from that viewpoint, also why work until now then not load the new toner. Definately the right and genuine toner. When I was fitting the new bottle cover a while back, one thing did worry me at the time. When those mylars come off where do they end up. I found only one in the dissasembled hopper unit, and dispite having taken apart pcu and with the empty dev unit, never found the others...

I would also confirm the toner bottle is turning in the add toner mode.

If you can get it to a working state with good density of the solids, you could try calibrating the TD sensor in SP2801. It sounds to me like the hopper is packed with toner though.

Check the chuck of the hopper (the cat's anus as it's affectionately known) opens fully when the green handle is lifted. Had a lot of these become packed with toner and/or worn causing the chuck to not open properly giving the problems you describe.

Failing that your problem is most likely on the dev unit.

                  Update to what happened.
If you can get it to a working state with good density of the solids,
Yeah, well after trying a couple of manual toner recoveries, I overtoned it and toner was literally running out of the cleaning unit and running down the drum, total mess. Toner message unchanged, copier not going "ready". I took the dev unit to another machine and ran about 50-60 black copies to de-tone it, until the black density looked about right and re-installed it back. Still not going "ready" and asking for toner.
I did a "memory all clear" (with all the associated LD adjustments etc) , and the "replace toner" message cleared and the machine went "ready"..........why, what happened, I don't know. However, when checking Vsp, Vsg, Vsg was showing normal (circa 4.00v) the Vsp was showing 0 , which is not right. In total frustration I loaded the copier into the van and hauled it off to the Gestetner agents' workshop so we could look at it with the colleagues. By the time it got there and we went into the Vsp reading, it was showing 0.17. Maybe an hour of shaking around in the back of the van did it some good. More black copies, "replace toner", toner replaced and loaded correctly ! As to what caused the original problem, I don't know. All I know is that "memory all clear" seemed to bring it back on track. Does that make any sense ?

i have had allready such kind of problems, with 1035 and 2035.
I clean the toner admision mechanism , until the ax turn easy. Then,I get out the dev. tank, i turn the main axe 5-6 turns untill the surplus of the toner in the admission enter in the dev. chamber. Then i clean the chamber of the exhausted toner from the drum unit, and the message"please add toner" disapear after 10-15 seconds.Hope will help you...
