    MPC6000... Multicolored mess

I have several MPC6000's in my territory, and its always the same story. Charge rollers with lines on them every 30-50k. Toner spraying out of the PCU's everywhere. And god help you if you let any of the dev units go 100k without a solid vacuuming, as you will get toner splotches randomly on every copy.(Not that developer lasts more than 250k anyways)
I know there is a bulletin to 'fix' the issue, but radically altering toner density and having the machine make ugly copies(like worse than the 1224c) isn't a fix in my book.
You people are all geniuses that would make MacGyver ashamed, anyone come up with any real solutions?
(The MPC6501 sucks also, just slightly less)

Yes, it's called getting the customer to "upgrade" to an MPC5502 for a cheaper price! Better copies, better reliability.

You've just described practically every MPC6000 in existence. They are not a fun machine to deal with.

If memory serves (as it's been a year or so) there are a number of filters on the machine that need to be scrupulously cleaned to try and maintain airflow to prevent the toner scattering issue. Also whenever you replace the dev on the machine, follow the procedure to the letter and make sure the TD sensor initialization passes properly after the dev fill. I have known these things to majorly sh*t the bed after a dev change when the tech doing it hadn't followed the procedure correctly and instead of taking steps to put it right have basically thought "f*ck it" and left it.

They are though, an unreliable and labour intensive machine, I don't know of one single tech who works on them who has a single positive word to say about them.

At the moment I've got a get out of jail free card for these things, not done the training course, got press ganged by a former boss into taking calls on them, got majorly bitten in the arse by them and chewed out by said same boss for productivity and parts spend. Now I don't get given calls on them (and don't want them either)

Scrub the charge rollers, that usually stops the PCU's from putting coloured lines on everything as quickly.

Yes the mpc 6000 6501's are major toner t*rds. One thing that I have found that helps with the line issue is to replace the cym lube bars springs with the black style (part number D0142325) they apply less pressure to the lube bar.
