Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
I'm not sure if it is the same sensor used in the analog machines but I know in them the sensor will get dirty on the lens and cause this kind of error. If you don't have a new one just clean it with a q-tip & alcohol. Only thing that bothers me is why you do not get an error code message on the control panel display. One more thing, if memory serves me correctly make sure your sensor is positioned in the right direction. I think that is one you can turn wrong.

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
well, I got paper jam count "1" (paper present) at fuser exit leading edge 7504-071 but there is not a thing there.
I guess the photo reflective fusing exit sensor is shot? Might be why my associate tried the paper exit sensor from the MP w2400 we have here.Leave a comment:

Here in shop today will have a look. One thing my partner here did was clear all memory - w/o the smc printout. Not good. However, considering the copy q not an issue just had to reenter table type, activate HDD again.Leave a comment:

Sounds like you are making some headway, at least it runs! I have never seen one of thses machines come up with a jam indicator without an error code or some indication of where the jam is located. The only codes on this machine that are resettable are fuser codesand that process is shown in the start of the manual but you are already aware of those. I would try going into service modes 7504-7505 etc. This will tell you where the last jams occurred and maybe that will help.Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
Got the machine going today - put in new thermostats and new thermistor. Also, another guy here had inserted the "paper feed sensor" from a MP 2400w whereas the 240w uses a "photo reflection sensor" so I suggested that he put the 240w photo sensor back in there as these are two completely different part numbers.
Fired it up all go lamp working but paper did stop at about 4 inches past exit fuser now the paper jam indicator will not go out. Removed fuser unit again no paper anywhere. Turned on copier jam indicator still there.
Any way to reset this indicator? There is not any paper in the path. At least the copy Q for what did get transferred to paper was good.Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
I guess I can not answer that one either although I have seen some dumb things on these wide format machines. Since both carry the same part number the only way to be sure I guess would be to match up the pin connections with the termingals on the actual circuit and make sure they are correct. I still think the thermisters are the same but I can not give you an answer on the pins & connections.Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
One more quick question - I looked at the thermistor AW100087 in a MP w2400 we have in the shop. It has a white male two pin connector on end going to copier where there is a 3 pin female (with only two wires going in) while the AW100087 in the 240w we have has on end going to copier a 3 pin female to a two pin male white connector (again with only 2 wires in) - what's up with that?
Same part number in parts catalogs yet different connectors on end that goes to rear of copier.Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
Sorry I did not get back quicker but service calls come first. Anyway, no way could that havae hurt anything. If you recall there is a saftey switch on the rear cover that kills all the machine power. Most guys probably never unplug the machine.Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
Ok, thanks. This might seem like a dumb question but I was rushing around and put this fuser unit back in machine after replacing lamp a few days ago and I always unplug it but forgot - that wouldn't blow the lamp or anything else would it?Leave a comment:

No sir, same part number for both according to the manual.Leave a comment:

are the thermistors on a MP w2400 different than a 240w fuser?Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
I know your feeling!! This machine can be totally frustrating at times. Even thought the code you have is the ac, I would definitely replace the thermistors before going to the CPU. Don't forget this machine has a weird way of resetting fuser codes. I know you know how to work on this machine but sometimes we all forget.
Be sure and let us know how you make out on this one and if I can help let me know.
Good LuckLeave a comment:

Re: Ricoh 240w wide AC Drive Board? SC548
thanks - I fount that the AC drive board is part of the PSU. Swapped it out stll get SC548. All connections tight. I am thoroughly stumped on this one.
Not sure if you looked here but if you check the schematic it shows the fuser being fed from the PSU labeled as PCB 4. Then check the location chart and compare to the parts list. I did not come up with the same number as you had but I could very easily be wrong. The newer model of the 240w does not even list that error code, but it does show the PSU. Hope this gives you a little help.Leave a comment:
